Overall 2 coastal + 2 specialist in either food, energy or research is an absolute monster combo though, you can get several hundred of your primary resource and the other coastal production will give you a flat 30 to one resource and 60 to the other.Īll that said because the coastal tech requires much less research and production it ramps up faster even if you want to specialise. Even with 2 research and 2 coastal sectors the coastal are giving just 30 base + 60 for the flat bonus from the 4 sectors that are either coastal or research at tier 3 plus a single 10% modifier at tier 3. Coastal sectors give really good flat bonuses, but only a single +10% modifier. The percentage multipliers outstrip the coastal sectors by a fair margin, since only one coastal can get a specialist building for research (or energy, or food). That amounts to a +90% modifier and +4 per colonist (which then gets the modifier too). For example research sectors give +2 per colonist working research, +10% for the sector exploitation, +20% for each of the research buildings you can build in those sectors (as long as you fill all research slots for colonists) and a one off +30% to either society or military research. Not always because the specialist sectors can give big percentage bonuses at top tier (although that's tier 5 so requires a bigger capital investment of production). A normal sector give 2 jobs and 15 production. Originally posted by enricofermi2:I might be wrong but I think coastal is just better always, 45 resources total at level 3 and 9 jobs.
